Lizzy spends her beautiful days as mama to Eleanor (8/2012) and Conrad (5/2014), wife and partner to her husband Nick, and maven of all things that catch her eye, intellect, or heart. She is Co-Founder of Inspired Family, curator of the blog Where We Wear: A Collection of Babywearing Stories, owner of FOUND:handmade, an Etsy shop that features her unique handwriting, and the hand behind this (un)scripted life, a place for her to respond and reflect through quotes and stories written by hand.
Prior to fulltime motherhood, Lizzy’s professional career was in Student Affairs Administration at Temple University, with a focus on social justice education, leadership initiatives, event planning, service learning programs, and crisis response. She also served as adjunct faculty in Women’s & Gender Studies at The College of New Jersey. Lizzy earned her BA in History and Women’s & Gender Studies at Douglass College of Rutgers University and her MA in Women’s & Gender Studies at Rutgers University.
Lizzy’s passions are mindful living, fitness, hiking, early childhood education, anything crafty (especially making hand crafted toys for her two little loves), art journaling, babywearing, gender and feminism, reading, social justice, service to others, and living a life that leaves the world better than she found it.
Mom, wife, part-time Literacy Consultant for Scholastic, part-time Baby Sign Language Instructor and Special Education teacher on hiatus while raising her two children – Nicole wears many hats, as many of us do. Professionally, she holds a Masters in Urban Education and Special Education, completed her Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certification from Stanford University and most recently achieved certification in Baby Signs® Programs. After living in San Francisco Bay Area, Nicole and her family moved to Philadelphia in 2012, while she was 7 months pregnant. New to the area, she did her own research about the best prenatal yoga studios, where to buy cloth diapers, which midwives to deliver with, etc… To her relief there is a wealth of support in her new community of wonderfully caring, like-minded families and knowledgeable, local resources. This incredibly inspiring network shared in her celebrations and was a shoulder to lean on during her first few years of parenting. Eager to help others connect to the vast prenatal, infancy and toddlerhood resources that Philadelphia has to offer, while also beginning community outreach to support local and national causes, Nicole is thrilled that through collaboration with Lizzy, Inspired Family was born.
